DREAD: THE S.T.D.
The System Technique Doc for Dread: The First Book of Pandemonium is now available. This document contains all of the core rules from the Player's Section of the book. I've removed all of the gaming fiction, and have trimmed the spells list from 88 to 4. The lists of weapons, armor, equipment, and vehicles have also been truncated, and numerous examples of gameplay, notes, and quickstart rules have also been cut. I've also deleted much of the setting information. This has resulted in a lean, 16-page document that presents the nuts-and-bolts information that you'll need in order to play the game, create a character, resolve gunfights and car chases, or teach someone how to play. CHARACTER SHEETS
 There are four character sheets to choose from. Check them out and pick the one that best suits your gaming group.

  • Basic: This version is found in the Dread rulebook.
  • Rounded: Fewer sharp edges than the Basic.
  • Coroner's Report: A little pessimistic.
  • Two-pager: Contains more background information.

GAMING MATERIALS
If you're going to be running Dread for the first time, these materials can help you out. This PDF has everything you need to get started, including the game's core rules, the entirety of chapter 3 (which covers character creation, including information about Attributes, Disciplines, Skills, Drive, and Contacts), a list of all the spells in the game, spell packages that will help speed up character creation, and a basic character sheet. Please note that this document is printer-friendly, and doesn't reflect the art direction or layout of the actual book. To see what the book really looks like, check out Chapter 3 below.
